I feel bad for Derek Chauvin.

I feel bad for Chauvin.

He’s taking a fall for the system that created him. Even BEFORE the police academy.

He wasn’t a klansman who took a black man into the woods. He was participating in a system that constantly reassured him that this is how you treat Black men. We know this because the other cops PROTECTED HIM as he killed George Floyd. They didn’t see ANYTHING WRONG with Floyd’s treatment at the time.

Derek Chauvin didn’t create that system. He just believed it too much and it abandoned him like it does all cops with video evidence against them.

Derek Chauvin is a victim of the same system that killed George Floyd. He didn’t create it.

Politicians and judges created that system. They are also the ones that allow that system to continue, as they all now wag their fingers at Derek Chauvin with faux contempt. He is their scapegoat.

He is taking a fall for believing a system that taught him, throughout his life, that “you gotta be a little rougher with Black men. Don’t worry, they will take it. They know their place in society. Everybody will go along.”

But I’ve met a LOT of cops like that. PERSONALLY. And those cops DIDN’T take ANY fall as Chauvin has. Those cops collect a pension, today.

And today, all of those cops who had the great benefit of young Darnella Frazier and her cell phone being ABSENT during their “George Floyd moments on duty?” Today, they wag their fingers at Derek Chauvin.

They wag their fingers with self-righteousness because of course, their corruption of the human spirit was never filmed. So that means it never happened, except in the minds of the defenseless victims.

You gotta feel for the guy, Derek Chauvin. He's a fall guy. Is he guilty of this crime? Absolutely. But he’s not the only one who contributed to George Floyd’s death. He was just a tool.

I bet you he knows that now. I can see it in his face.
